Loadcell Description

Loadcells are typically at the heart of just about every electronic weighing device. And like any piece of electronics, they will require replacement at some time. QWM has access to a comprehensive range of loadcell brands, types, capacities and models.

1. Shearbeam Loadcells

Shear beam loadcells are the most commonly used loadcells for industry. They are very economical and have exception scale resolution, accuracy, linearity, repeatability, and stability. They are suitable for static and in-motion weighing. Shear beam loadcells are available in capacities from 125kg to 10000kg. Most of the shear beam range is trade approved.

2. Single-Point Loadcells

Single point loadcells are primarily used for top-loading, trade approved small platform scales. They are also used in non-trade applications. Single-point loadcells are available in capacities from 100g to 300kg. They have exception scale resolution, accuracy, linearity, repeatability, and stability.

3. S-Type Loadcells

S-type loadcells are also known as tension loadcells. They are best suited for suspended weighing applications. They are typically used for non-trade weighing. Eyebolts and other fittings are not supplied as standard. S-type loadcells are available in capacities from 1kg to 5000kg.

4. Weighbridge Loadcells

Large capacity loadcells, as suitable for weighbridge installations and silos, may also be known as compression type loadcells. They have exception scale resolution, accuracy, linearity, repeatability, and stability. These loadcells have an IP-65 environment rating or higher and are constructed from stainless steel. They are available in capacities from 20t to 100t. Almost the entire range is trade approved.

5. Transducers

Transducers, and specifically Gozinta Cells, can be fitted into structural support frames of hoppers and silos to measure the deformation of the steel as product is loaded in to and from the structure. The deformation of the steelwork is directly related to the amount of product in the structure.

These types of transducers are an indication only of the approximate weight held by the structure. Typically, these cells need to be protected from temperature change to avoid inaccurate readings.
